Biddy
Biddy began her career as a trained primary school teacher, working in the classroom before taking time out to raise her family. Together with her husband, she spent 15 years sharemilking and now enjoys life on their own small sheep and beef farm, just five minutes from Dunsandel.
A proud mum to three boys; now aged 14, 12, and 9 – Biddy has strong ties to our centre, with all of her children having attended Blue Goose and cherishing their time here. Her connection to the preschool and wider community runs deep, and she continues to love being part of the Dunsandel whānau.
Biddy began relieving at the preschool in 2018, and as her own children grew older, she took on more regular teaching days from 2022. Her background in primary education, combined with her calm, kind-hearted nature, brings a valuable perspective to the teaching team.
She especially enjoys seeing the tamariki she’s taught move on through the school years – whether it’s cheering them on at rugby practice, chatting at school events, or bumping into them around town. For Biddy, being able to support children across different stages of their lives is one of the most rewarding aspects of her role.
Biddy’s deep sense of community, gentle approach, and dedication to tamariki make her a much-loved and respected member of our preschool team.
