Bluegoose preschool team - Georgie

Georgie

Role: Teacher

Georgie began her teaching journey in 2021, enrolling in the Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood). During her studies, she completed a professional teaching placement at Dunsandel Childcare & Preschool, where she quickly formed strong connections with tamariki and staff. Her natural rapport with children and passion for early learning made her a perfect fit for our team, and she joined us as a permanent kaiako shortly after her placement.

Before entering the ECE sector, Georgie worked as a nanny, gaining valuable hands-on experience caring for children of various ages. This background helped her develop a deep understanding of the importance of nurturing relationships and the critical role these relationships play in children’s development. She brings this relational approach into her everyday teaching, prioritising connection, trust, and mutual respect in all her interactions.

Georgie believes that every child is unique and deserving of a space where they feel safe, valued, and free to be themselves. She creates a calm, nurturing environment where tamariki are encouraged to explore, express their individuality, and develop confidence in their own time. Her thoughtful, reflective approach and kind, compassionate nature have quickly made her an integral and much-loved member of our preschool whānau.

Outside of teaching, Georgie enjoys spending quality time with her whānau and friends. She is passionate about the outdoors and loves being active – especially when it involves water sports or exploring nature. Her love for the natural world often inspires her teaching, and she brings this enthusiasm into the learning environment.
