Jeannette

Jeannette joined Dunsandel Childcare and Preschool in 2025, bringing with her a fresh perspective, infectious enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young tamariki. A recent graduate of Ellesmere College, Jeannette stepped into the world of early childhood education with a strong desire to make a positive impact and to foster meaningful relationships with the children in her care.

Growing up in a warm, supportive whānau and helping to care for her younger siblings, Jeannette naturally developed the nurturing, compassionate qualities that make her such a valued presence in our preschool environment. Her calm and empathetic approach helps tamariki feel safe, respected, and empowered to explore and learn at their own pace.

Later in the year, Jeannette will take on an exciting new adventure – travelling to New York to serve as a mentor through Camp America. This incredible opportunity speaks to her adventurous spirit, leadership potential, and deep commitment to supporting children’s growth and development on a global stage.

Outside of her work in ECE, Jeannette is passionate about sport and leads an active lifestyle. She is especially enthusiastic about netball and rugby, and her team-player attitude and energetic nature are felt both on the field and within our teaching team. Her vibrant personality, sense of fun, and willingness to learn make her a much-loved member of our centre.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Jeannette as part of the Dunsandel whānau and look forward to supporting her on her journey— – wherever in the world it may take her!
