Liz

Liz joined the team at Dunsandel Childcare & Preschool in 2021, bringing with her a nurturing heart, a deep sense of community, and a love for working with tamariki. She lives on the outskirts of Doyleston with her husband and their four children, where they enjoy the rhythms of rural life on their family farm.

Originally born in Timaru, Liz spent part of her childhood in Australia before returning to New Zealand. She built a successful career in people-focused roles, working as a sales manager and later as a flight attendant. These experiences gave her strong communication skills, confidence, and a calm, approachable presence – all of which now enrich her work with children.

Liz has always had a natural connection with tamariki, from babysitting at a young age to raising her own four children. She has a particular passion for working with infants and thrives in the nursery environment, where her warm, empathetic nature helps babies feel safe, calm, and loved. She brings a deep sense of care to every interaction and delights in supporting the emotional wellbeing of the youngest members of our preschool whānau.

Actively involved in her community, Liz volunteers her time through school PTAs and supports her children’s activities in rowing, rugby, and netball. She values connection and loves seeing tamariki grow and develop both inside the centre and out in the community. Outside of her work and family life, Liz enjoys true crime podcasts, documentaries, and spending time outdoors. Her steady, caring presence, combined with her strong sense of whanaungatanga, makes her a cherished and respected part of the Dunsandel team.
